I’ve found another job lead. The Congregation Rodeph Sholom is in need of an Operations, Membership, and Programming Assistant. Basically, it sounds like they need somebody to help do a bit of everything around the office. It’s not my ideal job and the pay is quite low, but after days and days of pouring through classified ads it’s beginning to sink in that I’m not generally considered to be qualified for what I really want to do. So I figure I’ve got to get in on the ground floor somewhere. And there are several good points. They sound like a pretty progressive synagogue, they’re in New York City so I could go to The New Seminary, and I’ve been wanting to learn more about Judaism for a while now. Not to mention they’re right beside Central Park. All in all, this could be a good starting point for the next segment of my life. I sent off my cover letter and resume last night, so we’ll see what happens.
