Ongoing Process

From the official website of the Democratic National Committee:

"The DNC and the Obama Campaign are unified and working together to elect Barack Obama as the next president of the United States. Our presumptive nominee has pledged not to take donations from Washington lobbyists and from today going forward the DNC makes that pledge as well," said Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean. "Senator Obama has promised to change the way things are done in Washington and this step is a sure sign of his commitment. The American people’s priorities will set the agenda in an Obama Administration, not the special interests."

I might be hallucinating, but I’m pretty sure that the national organizational body of the entire Democratic Party just said they were going to stop taking money from lobbyists.  Right?  That’s what that actually says?

I realize that every individual Democrat is still free to take sanctioned bribes, but I swear, Obama is in serious danger of instilling a faint degree of hope for our political system within me.  Strange days, indeed.

OK, I’m not famous.  However, I do have the dubious distinction of being the author of the blog post which is the #1 Google search result for "Doctor Who sucks".  Which puts me just ahead of a page explaining the racist nature of Dr. Seuss.

I am amused.
