Apartment!

Tuesday, September 19th, 2006

I have a home!  It is at 54 Spruce St.  It’s not in as good of a condition as I’d like and it has a funky layout, but it’s roomy,  is in a nice area, is in walking distance to downtown, and is in the Burlington Telecom service area.  That means I can easily walk to my favorite shopping and socializing places and, far more importantly, I can get 5 megabit symmetrical Internet!  *drool*  *drool*  (For the non-technical, that means I’ll have a connection big enough to run a large corporation.)  I signed my lease this afternoon, so now I just need to get the utilities turned on and buy a whole bunch of furniture.  Yay!  :)

Employment!

I got the job!!! I am now gainfully employed. :) You are reading the blog of the new Director of Technical Services at Chittenden Community Television. Other than being completely unrelated to spirituality, it seems to be my dream job. My boss is fabulous, my coworkers seem great, I’m being paid well, I get awesome benefits, I’m doing interesting work, and they all seem to love me. I’ve spent the last few days in a flurry of flying, packing, saying goodbyes, and generally gearing up for a whole new phase of my life. I leave bright and early tomorrow, will arrive in Burlington on Tuesday, and then I start on Thursday.

Here I go!
