A new plan!

Friday, August 11th, 2006

I have a new plan!  It’s entirely possible that no part of it will happen, but I happen to think that it’s a marvelous plan none the less.  Here it is:

  1. My old boss at Burlington College, the Director of Information Technology, retires.
  2. Burlington College hires me as their new Director.
  3. I work as Director for 3-4 years whilst convincing the powers that be that having an interfaith center is an absolutely essential part of their bold vision for the future.
  4. I move over to be the Director of Interfaith Programming when the center launches in 2010.
  5. I live happily ever after.

What do you think?  Isn’t it fabulous?  I particularly like the living happily ever after part.

Ok, let’s see what happens!  :)

Goodbye, Morristown (Eventually)

Friday, August 11th, 2006

I have been tossing around the idea of starting some sort of interfaith center here in Morristown.  But I have today decided that I will not.  When I sat down and really thought about it, I realized that the only reason I was even considering it was because I couldn’t think of anything else to do.  Which is a really awful reason to start an interfaith center.

I just really dislike this area.  It is incredibly oppressive and I radically do not fit in.  As I have said to friends and family, Morristown doesn’t want me and I don’t want Morristown.  So, I won’t be staying.  Of course, I still have to find something to do somewhere.  But I will eventually be saying goodbye to Morristown (again).
